We will be paying attention to what stimulates us and explore how to sit with the discomfort that gets stimulated.  We make space for what comes up to emerge organically.  We explore what contributed to getting stimulated and how this gives us information about how we want to respond.  Our goal is to eventually be able to meet these stimuli by responding skillfully rather than letting the discomfort unduly influence us.

Exploring your own parenting style with less reactivity and more choice

Many of us would like to be able to have power with our children instead of power over, and to have collaboration instead of imposing obedience. A key to this is being relational, providing information about what's going on for us so that together we can adjust to the impacts that we are having on one another. Having this information creates more opportunity for us each to be coming from a place of wanting to make life more wonderful for each other.

  • habits and conditioning that influence how you parent
  • working with what gets stimulated in us
  • how to have more choice about responses vs. reactions
  • how to integrate ideas into your parenting style, making them your own and incorporating them into what you actually do
