Reflection questions

When you prepare for bringing a topic to the class, you are invited to engage with the following questions:

1. Describing the issue

a. What is the specific challenge you want support with or a topic you want to bring to the course for discussion?

b. What’s the shortest way you can explain it to the group, without getting into many details of it as a story?

2. Connecting to purpose

a. How does addressing this challenge or topic relate to your purpose for being in the course?

b. How does addressing this challenge or topic relate to the overall purpose of the course?

Which of the specific mission points would it support?

c. If you are not finding sufficient clarity about connecting what you want to bring to at least one of the above questions, is it meaningful for you to ask for support in teasing out of the specific topic a purpose for bringing it forward or for being in the course?

If you couldn’t find a meaningful question for any of the last three questions, then there is likely not enough purpose-related reason to bring the topic to the class.
